These terms govern the €199 K0 preorder deposit and purchases in the shop (§9). Read them before paying. They are deliberately short, because we would rather you actually read them.

2. What a preorder deposit is, and is not
- It is a refundable payment of €199 that preorders a Komatachi K0 from the first production batch of fifty.
- It is a deposit, not full payment. The €1,700 balance — the €1,899 total minus this €199 — is never charged automatically; it becomes payable only when the robot is built, we offer it to you, and you explicitly confirm the order.
- Because no delivery date is promised (§6), the 30-day default delivery period of Directive 2011/83/EU is expressly excluded by agreement: delivery happens when the first batch ships, and you may withdraw for a full refund at any time before then.
- Preordering creates no obligation on you to complete the purchase.
3. The product does not exist yet
The K0 is in development. At the time of writing a prototype is partially built and no finished product exists. Specifications on this site are labelled either Confirmed (design frozen, parts specified) or Target (design intent, not yet measured on hardware).
Target figures may change. If a Target figure changes materially, we will tell reservation holders before asking anyone for a balance payment, and you may take a refund at that point or at any other.
4. Refunds
Your €199 is refundable at any time, for any reason or none, until you place an actual order. Email us and we return it. There is no window to miss and no condition to satisfy. See the refund policy for how and how fast.
This is more generous than the 14-day withdrawal right that EU consumers have under the Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU). That right also applies and is not reduced by anything here.
5. If we do not proceed
We may decide not to build the K0 at all — that is what a reservation round is for. If we cancel the programme, every reservation is refunded in full, automatically, without you asking.
Refunds go back the way they came. If you paid the balance in instalments through Klarna, a refund is processed through Klarna and returns your payments under the plan you chose; your right to a full refund is the same on every payment method.
6. Delivery, safety and conformity
No delivery date is promised. Any date discussed is an estimate.
A powered machine sold in the EU must meet applicable conformity requirements before it is placed on the market. Machinery placed on the EU market up to 19 January 2027 falls under Directive 2006/42/EC; Regulation (EU) 2023/1230 applies from 20 January 2027. A connected robot also engages the Radio Equipment Directive. We will not ship to anyone until that work is complete, whatever it does to the schedule.
7. Your data
See the privacy policy. In short: we keep your answers to decide what to build, we do not sell them, and payment card details never reach us — Stripe handles those.
8. Governing law
Hungarian law applies. If you are a consumer resident in the EU, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer law in your own country, and you may bring proceedings there.
9. Shop orders (goods)
The shop sells physical goods that exist — currently an SO-101 follower arm, as a kit or assembled, with 12 V or 7.4 V servos. For these orders:
- The contract of sale is formed when we confirm dispatch, and payment is taken at checkout through Stripe.
- EU consumers have the 14-day withdrawal right under Directive 2011/83/EU, running from delivery. Our refund policy is wider: ask and you get it back.
- Goods carry the 2-year legal guarantee of conformity. If a unit arrives defective or fails in normal use, we repair, replace or refund — your choice within the statutory order.
- Risk passes to you on delivery. Shipping prices and options are shown at checkout before payment.
- Waste electronics: do not bin the product. Contact us and we will arrange take-back or direct you to the correct WEEE channel in your country.
Everything else on this page — who you contract with, your data, governing law — applies to shop orders unchanged.
